This product enables the quantification of residual host cell–derived DNA during pharmaceutical manufacturing processes using real-time polymerase chain reaction (real-time PCR or qPCR). Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO) cells are the most widely used mammalian cell line for the production of biopharmaceuticals, including proteins, antibodies, and vaccines.

Using the ResidualQSearch™ Plus CHO DNA Quantitation Kit, a total of seven points were tested by serial dilution from 3 ng/reaction to 3 fg/reaction. The results confirmed that residual DNA at levels of 3 fg/reaction or higher can be quantitatively measured.
